Facilities for work in auto mechanics, sheet metal,
and various activities were constructed in one building
erected in 1916. The Mechanical Arts Building was also
referred to as the Engine House. It was located on the
west side of North Hall.
The central heating plant of the University, supplying
heat and hot water for the buildings was constructed
of brick. The equipment consisted of a total of three
water tube boilers with a capacity of 1095 horsepower.
The complete plant is valued at $150,000.
